The National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Governor of Anambra State, Mr Willie Obiano, has said that Dr Goodluck Jonathan remained the presidential candidate of the party in the forthcoming general election.
Obiano stated this, on Friday, while addressing party supporters during a rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He said Jonathan was the only trusted candidate that could take Nigeria to a greater height.
The governor urged the people to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and come out en masse to vote for Jonathan and all APGA candidates in the coming elections.
Obiano said the president was the only leader that could address the current situation in the country.
“Jonathan has done very well. He is the only person that can purify this country, so, APGA’s standard-bearer for this year’s presidential election is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
“Everybody, particularly people from the South-West, should come out massively to vote for the president,” he said.
Obiano told the crowd that the party had changed the political structure of Anambra State in the last nine years, adding that such transformation would be extended when APGA wins the governorship race in other states.
He said APGA had a foothold in the South-West and the North.
Also, the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, reiterated that APGA was a national political party rather than sectional.
He advised the people of Ogun State to elect a God-fearing man who has the capacity to govern. "Tribune reports".
