Oyo State deserves a masses-oriented govt - Sen. Folarin

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Teslim Folarin, said Oyo State deserves a masses-oriented government that will encourage small scale businesses and care for senior citizens.

He said if elected, he would run a human-face government that will make life more meaningful for the people of Oyo State and empower large numbers of idle women.
Sen. Folarin, who spoke while addressing supporters of the party at Olomi, in Ibadan, on Tuesday, promised to create jobs for the youth in the state.
The former Senate Leader said that “Oyo State is one of the few states in the federation that should care for its people and encourage entrepreneurship because of the generosity of the Federal Government to the state.
He challenged the state government for not creating enabling environment for traders, entrepreneurs and artisans in the state, saying he has it in his manifestos to build mega markets and create job opportunities for youths.
According to him, the present administration in the state is not doing enough to make life meaningful for the people. He faulted the way the government demolished some shops and houses in the state.
“Our people are business-oriented. Most of our parents use the little money they earn from retail to sponsor our education. Is it good to start destroying their shops? That is why we are appealing to you to vote for a party that will not destroy your houses.
